How Robert’s Hinge Profile Took Off Overnight

Back in the Dating Pool after 7 Years in a Relationship

The Total Package took Robert from newly single to pausing his Hinge profile after less than 2 weeks

Meet Robert!

35 / Forestry Engineer / Shelton WA
Robert's initial message to us:

"Last year I got out of a 7 year relationship. I decided to take some time before starting to date again. I'm feeling ready to start dating and I want to make most of my experience.

I am willing to put in the extra effort required to create a high quality dating profile in order hopefully stand out."

We said: Game on!

All of Robert's photos were several years old or had his ex in them (sound familiar?)

🎯 The Goal: Attract the Right kind of Matches on Hinge

To help Robert meet his forever partner sooner rather than later, we got to work building him an online dating profile that is:

✔ Deeply authentic & multi-dimensional

✔ Appealing *specifically* to his target matches (quality > quantity)

✔ Optimized for Hinge's algorithms (high algo ranking = max visibility)

Our Planning Process:

Discovery & Intake

Through a series of calls and questionnaires we got to know Robert:

‣ What he cares about

‣ What his life is like (big picture and day-to-day)

‣ What he is looking for in a partner

We took what we learned and distilled it down to a set of potent, aligned signals designed to resonate deeply with his target matches.

What stood out about Robert

🌲 He has a stable and fulfilling career in forestry

💪🏼 He is healthy, active, and fit

🐾 He has the sweetest dog (Timber!) who goes with him everywhere

🎣 He is real-deal outdoorsy. Not a casual weekend hiker but a man who lives and works mostly outside.

🏠 He is actively authoring his own beautiful life -- he recently bought 10 acres and, with he help of his friends, he is clearing the land and building a home

Robert’s Biggest Challenge? Dating in a Small Town

In cities, the ratio on dating apps is about 2 men for every woman.
In small towns like Robert’s, it’s closer to 4:1.

Strategy always matters — but in a dating pool this skewed, it’s absolutely critical.

📍 Robert's Dating Photoshoot Itinerary

Here's how we translated Robert's strategy into a photoshoot plan designed to tell his story.
✔ Meet at sunrise for fly fishing on the Snoqualmie River

✔ Then, explore the nearby trails for some dog dad hiking action

✔ Up next: chopping wood-- a nod toward Robert clearing land to building his home

✔ On the way into town (North Bend), pull over for some road trip shots with Timber

✔ Hit up Twede's Cafe for coffee + small-town diner vibes

✔ Walk around North Bend for some casual date vibes

✔ End with a cold beer at South Fork

Robert's Photoshoot was 10/10  🙌🏻

Robert and I felt like old friends and time flew by with lots of laughter. I embarrassed Robert just a tiny bit two times, lol! Once by snapping a few shirtless candids while he swapped outfits and later by begging him to pose by an animatronic doll we found at the diner (I love weird stuff, especially unexpected dolls).

 Robert was a great sport!

From hundreds of shots to 6 strategic dating photos

Once we had Robert's photo library, we carefully curated 6 photos, optimized and sequenced to capture attention and invite connection.

Step 1: stop the scroll with a magnetic lead photo

Step 2: reveal a dynamic, authentic, super dimensional story about Robert, a person who (for the right women) has future boyfriend potential and is absolutely worth getting to know.

🎯 Robert’s photos were chosen to do more than look good — they are designed to attract women who share his love of the outdoors and dogs, while gently filtering out the rest. That way, every match starts with common ground and real potential.

The 6 photos we chose for Robert's dating profile:

A man in a blue button-up shirt smiles at the camera while sitting outdoors, with a wooden fence and greenery in the background.
A man sits on the open tailgate of a pickup truck, smiling and petting a black dog, with mountains and trees visible in the background.
A man wearing suspenders and a light shirt is chopping wood with an axe in front of a tree stump, surrounded by dense green foliage.
Man in a red shirt sits in a gray outdoor chair, smiling and holding a can of drink, with a wooden fence and patio background.
A person stands in a shallow river fly fishing, surrounded by trees and mountains under a clear blue sky.
A man in a gray jacket sits at a yellow diner counter, smiling at the camera. Menus, condiments, cups, and diner decor are visible in the background.
He looks handsome and healthy, friendly and real, comfortable in his own skin, and definitely outdoorsy -- Robert is clearly someone who would be fun to grab a beer with. And to the right women:
Total boyfriend material.

Building Robert's Hinge Profile

Bringing it all together
With photos ready to go, we got to work building the written content for Robert's profile.

We started by gathering raw material — Robert’s stories, memories, quirks, and moments that reveal who he really is. We listened for his tone, his cadence, his humor, and the way he naturally expresses himself.

From there, we distilled and combined the best pieces into a set of prompts that are 100% Robert — authentic in voice, yet intentionally engineered to attract the kind of women he most wants to meet.

Each prompt works on its own to spark interest. Together with his photos, they form a cohesive, strategic campaign: one that invites curiosity, reveals character, and helps women imagine sharing real adventures… and building a life together.

🚀 Hinge Launch Kit & Dating App Use Strategy

Maximizing Robert's odds by training the algorithm
We didn’t just build Robert a rocket and toss him the keys like  “Good luck out there!”

Exactly when and how you launch a new Hinge profile can make or break its long-term performance. So instead of leaving it to chance, we armed Robert with a step-by-step launch kit and an app-use playbook that removed all the guesswork. He followed it to the letter— and it took off.
